Think of all those trips to the gas station, to Walmart, or the road trips you take, wouldn't it be great if you were rewarded for the miles you traveled? Now it's possible with an app found in the Apple App Store for iPhones only.
An iPhone App called Ride turns you approximate miles traveled into points that you can then use to claim various rewards and enter drawings. Upon initial installation of the app you are given 500 points for free. The few rewards available are Dunkin' Donuts, Amazon, CVS, Home Depot, and Regal Entertainment Group gift cards.
From my use of the app I am appearing to get about 2-3 points a mile.Currently 4,000 points is equivalent to about 1 dollar, which breaks down to about 2-3 cents per mile. It doesn't seem like much, but over time it'll add up
The app is constantly running in the background, but is optimized to use minimal battery usage. The app description says it doesn't track your exact location, it only approximates your location. You may notice a difference on your devices battery performance, but it is definitely worth it.
So when it's all said and done, you are trading a little battery percentage for 2-3 cents a mile. But, don't you always have your charger with you? Check out the app, it might just be worth your wild.
